Waterfront Lodging is very popular! In our area we have a few major lakes and rivers from Cooperstown to Oneonta. Otsego Lake is a glacier made lake located in Cooperstown. The Village of Cooperstown is at the southern end of Otsego Lake. The lake is the headwaters to The Susquehanna River which connects all the way to the Chesapeake bay 444 miles downstream. Don't worry there are many dams along the way which slow down the water significantly. Twenty Four miles downstream on the Susquehanna River a dam forms Goodyear Lake, this lake has a high concentration of vacation rentals. Goodyear Lake is about halfway in-between Cooperstown and Oneonta so it is a good landing spot for traveling baseball teams playing at the areas youth tournaments. Arnold Lake is a small private but absolutely beautiful lake located about 15 minutes south of the Village of Cooperstown. All of our lakes are great for swimming, fishing and boating.
